The Mud Master Chat Protocol was originally developed for the Mud Master MUD client somewhere around 1998 and allows peer-to-peer messaging between mud clients that support the protocol. The same year Mike Potter published a modification to the protocol called zChat, which was subsequently added as a plugin for zMUD 5.44.[1] In 2000 MMCP support was added to TinTin++ 1.82.
